n the Garlenda valley, just inland from the Ligurian Riviera, the Segre family's hotel (Relais & Chateaux) was "particularly enjoyed" by a regular Guide correspondent this year.

Visitor running in 2004 "were warmly welcomed" by the owners, who "are always about" at this "lovely place for a relaxing stay".
Earlier guest wrote: "We love the area as well as the hotel. Our room was uniquely and expensively furnished." "Delightful, with true personal touch. Charming gardens". The food is almost always enjoyed: the Rosmarino restaurant, with its terrace for summer dining under trees, serves modern versions of old Ligurian recipes and has "long list of local wines". nw Restaurant "il bistrot" was fantastic.

Bedroom decor is a mix of antique and local country style. Some rooms have a fireplace.; all have a balcony facing gardens or vineyards.
"The confortable, huge lounge has wonderful large windows". Drinks can be taken alfresco in a canopied, candlelit area. The pool area (with lifeguard) has "sumptuous sunbeds" and "great drinks and snacks service".

Golf packages are offered (an 18-hole par 72 course is adjacent).
Alassio, with its magnificent beach, is near.
