or the Italian singer Fabrizio De Andrè, heaven “was on the first floor”, for peaceful gourmets who love to eat in green tranquillity, heaven is in this relais in the Albenga hinterland.
A place with immense charm, hidden away amongst olive trees that flash with silver when the wind blows, and next to one of the most beautiful golf courses on the Italian peninsula.
The cuisine follows in line. Be lulled by the simplicity of the Ligurian traditions, together with the finest quality products and the best olive oil, combined with the flavours of rosemary, oregano and sage. The pesto that “smothers” the trofiette is delicate, the rare and precious shrimp from Oneglia, when available, are worth the trip alone.
And then there is the wine cellar: great wines, rare vintages and a sommelier to guide you. There are wine tasting menus that range from 50 to 80 Euro, ordering from the list costs around 70. A fair price for a few hours in paradise.
